Configure Spring Batch Admin to use MySQL

Spring Batch Admin is a web application that helps administrating batch jobs for Spring Batch applications and systems. It is a project from Spring.

4. Configuration  files

- In Batch-default.properties change database  name(default name is test) for property batch.jdbc.url, username for property batch.jdbc.user and password for property batch.jdbc.password.

Listing 1: is a part of batch-default.properties

Note: Database should exist, spring batch admin will not create the database, only tables will be created.

- business-schema-mysql.sql is an empty file, if deleted spring batch admin when started will throw and exception.

- In the pom.xml file change username and password for tomcat user.

Note: users and password can be added/changed from path to apache-tomcat-7.0.55/conf/tomcat-users.xml 

5. Deploying spring batch admin

- Select project SpringBatchAdminTc -> right click -> Run as -> Maven install

- Start tomcat server.

- Select project SpringBatchAdminTc -> right click -> Run as -> Maven build… , In name text field type springBatchAdminTC  and in goal text field type tomcat7:redeploy , click apply and Run

- Open address localhost:8080 /springBatchAdminMysql  in web browser

6.  Keeping data in MySQL

Spring Batch Admin will re-initialize the data in each new tomcat server restart, to prevent this from happening in batch-default.properties uncomment property batch.data.source.init=false, then redeploy the project by going to Run As icon and select springBatchAdminTC
